Located in the centre of the Pays de Forcalquier, La Magnanerie de Niozelles is an old farm of Provence of the 18th century renovated in the respect of the traditions. In a pleasant natural area with a panoramic sight on the valley of the Durance, the plate of Valensole and the mountain of Lure, it includes five lodgings of good comfort in two options: gîte or bed and breakfast. |

On the spot, many services are proposed to you. You will enjoy the swimming pool and the garden; you will relax in the reception room equipped with a bar and a library; you will take part to a meal, around a barbecue or regional specialities; mountain bikes are available for hiring... In the neighbourhoods, you will be able to discover La Haute Provence and its many sites of interest: Forcalquier, the park of Lubéron, the canyon of Verdon, Sisteron, a lot of typical villages (Lurs, Gordes...) and many others…; at less than one hour drive. And why not Aix en Provence, Avignon or Marseille and the Riviera. |

The magnanery is the place where we made the breeding of the silkworms. This name comes from magnan, silkworm or eater in Provence language, because of the extraordinary appetite of this caterpillar the scientific name of which is the bombyx of the mulberry tree and which exclusively eats fresh leaves of this tree. |
